The City of Larnaka and Cyprus Volleyball Federation host this top international beach volleyball event, the FIVB U21 World Championships between July 23rd and July 27th 2014.
This event is held in memory of Cyprus late president Glafkos Klerides, a resident of our fine city. It is one of the top Beach Volleyball Events in the world this year and in term of importance it ranks right after the Olympic Games and the Men’s & Women’s World Championships. It is one of four world class events the FIVB organizes each year for young athletes under the age of 23 (U17, U19, U21 & U23). Future olympians from all 5 continents will compete for the title of World's Best.
This year the event will take place on one of the most beautiful beaches of the island, ‘Foinikoudes‘ beach, which is also one of Larnaka's tourist attractions. This strip of cafes, bars, clubs, restaurants and hotels on the beach front, will become the hot spot of the guests and tourists attending the events.
